Barefoot running is the newest running fad! Join us and find out why and how it can prevent running injuries and learn what types of footwear

are most appropriate to begin a safe barefoot running program.

Full Description:
This webinar outlines the biomechanics of barefoot running and demonstrates how this type of running may prevent running-related injuries. We

will discuss footwear that is appropriate for barefoot running and participants will be provided with a program designed to safely begin

barefoot running.

Discuss how the biomechanics of barefoot running are different from traditional heel striking
Determine how barefoot running will unload certain body tissues and improve posture to prevent running injuries
Identify which types of footwear are most appropriate for barefoot running
Examine how to safely begin a barefoot running program

Your Presenter:
Jonathan E. Gallas, PT, DPT, CSCS, is a licensed Physical Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with 9 years of

experience rehabilitating runners, 20 years of competitive running experience, and 5 years of triathlon experience. Dr. Gallas is the facility

manager at Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers in Belvidere, Illinois. He specializes in rehabilitation of orthopedic and sports injuries, and

treats runners from many local running groups. He currently provides rehabilitation services to two high schools in Belvidere. Dr. Gallas

received his master's and doctorate degrees in Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Gallas is currently in the

dissertation phase of his doctorate in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
