Executive Skills: Who, What, When, Where, and How
Personal, behavioral, academic and social success is more dependent than ever on the ability to manage time, organize and prioritize information, show flexibility in thinking, monitor progress, and reflect on behavior. As a result, professionals who work with children and adolescents must be able to identify dysregulation in each or all of these areas and understand how to implement appropriate strategies for developing and strengthening their executive skills.
This seminar is a comprehensive examination of the relationship between executive skills; self-regulation; and personal, behavioral, academic, and social success; and how underdevelopment of these key brain based skills can interfere with neurotypical functioning. Emphasis will be placed on understanding internal brain structures and functions and their relationship to external manifestations of behavior, emotion, and learning.
