Child misbehavior may not improve by just enforcing rules. Rules simply define behavioral expectations and boundaries. That is why we need to establish appropriate and effective consequences per rule. Establishing specific logical consequences that directly match specific rules is more effective than punishments in terms of improving child misbehavior. Sometimes, it is difficult to determine which child discipline or consequence would be the most effective. This webinar offers a variety of effective child discipline or consequences that could be implemented on children of all ages.

This webinar explores:

• The differences between logical consequences and punishments,
• The meaning of learned helplessness and its affect on children, and
• How to develop effective logical consequences.

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will have developed an effective list of consequences for their home, classroom, or any other setting.

The presenter is Mark Lakewood, CEO of Building Strong Families National Seminars, a distinguished parenting expert, author, and speaker with over 20 years of clinical experience as a mental health therapist. Mr. Lakewood has an extensive history providing therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. Several years ago, he developed and facilitated an effective parenting program for parents of strong-willed children that gained local recognition. This program taught parents strategies and techniques to help them effectively manage their children's behavior. Based on this program, Mr. Lakewood later created the Sudden Compliance Program and is currently offering it as a DVD/downloadable video series and as a webinar series.

The cost to attend this webinar is only $9.95.

This webinar is presently scheduled for Thursday, April 29th, 2010 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM (Eastern Time). There are additional dates/times to select from. If the scheduled days/times are inconvenient, participants can schedule this live webinar to be presented on a day/time most convenient to them.
