Although roles-based access control (RBAC) has been the subject of much interest in the past, companies are still dealing with the complexity of managing roles at the infrastructure level (applications, data, files, file shares, host and network level). For some organizations, this complexity is an obstacle to deploying effective roles-based governance. Past experiences indicate that a top-down role design, based on business process, is critical to establishing an effective governance model Also, as governance processes are written from a business perspective, this approach can make it easier to support compliance with various regulations. · Challenges of governing user access to information resources · The new role design methodology – creating a top down and bottom-up hybrid approach · Role-based access governance methodology o Implementation goals & objectives · Deployment lessons learned · Implementing a continuous process for role lifecycle management, including Start: 03/17/2009 8:00 pm

Through the years, sustainability and sustainable design have earned the stigma of being very expensive to implement because the first thing the general public thinks of when they picture sustainable design is photovoltaics and highly complex automated control systems. This common misconception continues to hinder the incorporation of sustainable design strategies today, even though there is a multitude of simple, cost-effective strategies that can be incorporated. They do not have to cost any more and, when incorporated early in the design phase, can even be included with cost savings, particularly when lifecycle costing is considered. Institutional and Government funded projects more often than not include considerable budget constraints compared to privately funded developments. These constraints, plus security (AT/FP) and Health and Safety requirements, inherently reduce the potential for upfront investment and significantly increase the influence of short payback periods. However, the diverse programs and locations these builds offer encourage design and construction teams to explore opportunities to address site and climate specific challenges through affordable and often passive design techniques to achieve sustainable and energy efficient design. URS has successfully implemented this process on numerous projects. Through project examples we will illustrate our multi-disciplinary approach to the successful implementation of sustainable and holistic strategies on several projects. | 19

The ODBC specifications have evolved through different versions from 1.x to 3.5. The functional differences between these versions are not significant to the application developer and the end-user, though there are so many advantages when you upgrade. Most of the Windows ODBC drivers in the market are developed for the most common ODBC 3.0 standard. Why should you then as a driver vendor upgrade to ODBC 3.5? Join us for this Webinar to understand why you should move to 3.5 standard. Points to be brain stormed: * Identify the challenges during an upgrade.
